*Intro to Yoga
This seven week session was created for the person who is new to yoga or for anyone wanting to review the basic principles of yoga. The session focuses on proper alignment, how to modify poses and introduction to the philosophy of the Ashtanga yoga system. It is designed to give the background needed to enter into any of the Level 1 classes at Twist Yoga. The price includes access to Saturday 9:30am Sun Salutation & Meditation class and ALL of the Basic classes offered at Twist Yoga for the duration of the 7 week session. Basic Yoga
All postures will be demonstrated and explained
with modifications being suggested. These classes focus on the fundamental postures and
breathing based on the Ashtanga yoga system. Each class will include
a warm up sequence, standing postures, some seated and finishing
postures and end with full relaxation. No yoga experience necessary.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
A strong, fun and flowing style of yoga based on the Ashtanga system
of linking movement with conscious breath. Each class is unique since
the postures change from class to class and depends on the teacher’s
preference. This class is great for all levels of practitioners with basic yoga experience.
Ashtanga Yoga
Build strength, flexibility, deepen the breath and calm the mind. These
classes follow the sequence and principles taught by Ashtanga guru
Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. Basic experience in yoga
recommended prior to attending these classes. For more information

Level 1 - sun salutations, standing postures, some seated and simple finishing postures.
Level 2 - this class is for student who are ready to explore the postures from the Half
Series. Prior experience attending Level 1 classes recommended.
Level 3 - this class is for students who are ready to explore the postures from the Full
Primary Series. Prior experience attending Level 1 & 2 classes recommended.
Mysore - Self practice of the Ashtanga series with guidance and adjustment from the
teacher. The progression through the Ashtanga sequence is based on the individual
level of the student. Suitable for all levels of practitioners with a basic
understanding of the Ashtanga system.
Sun Salutations & Meditation
This class will explore a variety of styles of the sun salutations and focus on the meditative qualities of linking our breath to our movement. The class includes restorative postures to help relieve stress, meditation to relax our minds and concludes with an extended period of full relaxation. No yoga experience necessary.
Restorative
The purpose of this class is to restore the body's natural physical alignment and emotional balance. Each class will consist of warm up, vinyasa flow and restorative postures. Props will be used to support and encourage proper alignment while promoting stretching and strengthening of the body. Suitable for all levels. |
